Dental Implants: The Permanent Solution for Missing Teeth
The dental implants we use are made of titanium metal or a zirconia non-metal and are placed directly into the bony socket of the missing tooth/teeth. The implant is then allowed to integrate into the bony socket and the final crown is placed on the implant. The implant looks like a post into the bone and it behaves as closely as possible to a natural tooth, although the implant will not flex like a normal tooth can. The implants have had great longevity of 20-25 years and the technology is only getting better. Some even last a lifetime.
When replacing a full arch of teeth, you can consider 4-6 dental implants under a denture or zirconia prosthetic. We are also able to place implants virtually with the help of our CEREC and CBCT which allows for a “guided” surgical approach. This means that your dental implant will be placed in the EXACT best location that your body allows. Dr. Tinnel loves showing her patients this procedure virtually.
