Frequently Asked Questions About Dental Emergencies

We have compiled a list of some of the most frequently asked questions about dental emergencies and what to do when one arises. Do you have a question that isn’t answered below? Be sure to contact us – we are always happy to help you.

If your tooth falls out, try placing it back on the socket with firm but gentle pressure. If it doesn’t take, put it in a glass of milk or the person who lost the tooth saliva and contact us immediately.

If you chip your tooth, try to find the fractured piece and put it in a glass of milk or the person’s saliva. Then, contact us immediately.

Gently support the jaw with your hands to minimize movement while waiting for medical help. You can also try to tie the jaw closed using a bandage or cloth, if possible

If you experience severe tooth pain, rinse your mouth with warm water and gently floss around the area to remove any trapped particles. Avoid applying heat, as this can increase inflammation. Contact us as soon as possible to schedule an emergency appointment.
If something is lodged between your teeth, try to remove it gently with dental floss. Avoid using sharp objects, as these can damage your gums and teeth. If the object won’t come out, call us for assistance.
