Fixed and Implant-Supported Dental Bridges
In some circumstances, a missing tooth can be replaced with a bridge. A bridge is one option with a missing tooth, the other options are an implant or a removable partial denture. Bridges are only possible when there are no more than 1-2 missing teeth in a row. There also must be a tooth on either side of the space to accommodate the bridge.
An advantage of bridges is that they are cemented in place and do not come out like a removable partial denture does. A bridge is similar to a crown but it is 3-4 units all fabricated together as a single unit, the fake tooth is usually the middle tooth. This is a very nice alternative when implants are not an option.

A dental bridge is an excellent way for a dentist to bridge, or close, a gap in your smile. Made of porcelain material, it’s connected to your real teeth on either side.
After evaluating you and your needs, your dentist will determine what course of action to take. A lot of the time, a dental bridge is a good option because it isn’t implanted in the gum tissue, and therefore is less likely to be affected by gum disease.
With good oral hygiene, your dental bridge can last up to 15 years.
Yes, dental bridges are permanent but can be professionally removed by a dentist.
